Shadowrocket
Download & App Verification

Shadowrocket is a paid app with a one-time purchase, available exclusively on the App Store. Verify the storefront and app identity before checking the price and device compatibility.

Prices vary by App Store storefront. Check the product page for system requirements and universal purchase availability.

Your purchase account determines the storefront

Shadowrocket is not available in the mainland China App Store. If you can’t find it, first check the country or region of the Apple ID you use for the App Store instead of trying different search terms. Your device language, your current location, and the storefront shown by a web link are not necessarily the same as the storefront used by your account. When you open the product page from this site, the App Store may still show availability based on your current account.

To check your region, open Settings, tap your Apple ID, select Media & Purchases, then View Account and Country/Region. In short: Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Labels and menu order may vary by system version, so follow the options on your device. You only need to check the details; you don’t have to submit a region change.

If you need to change your account’s country or region, follow Apple’s instructions from the settings above. Your account balance, active subscriptions, payment method, and Family Sharing settings may affect whether the change can be completed, so switching regions is not guaranteed to work. Review the requirements shown on your device before continuing. Changing your device language or region format does not change the country or region of your purchase account.

Also check whether the account signed in to your device is the same one used for Media & Purchases. They can be different, which can cause confusion when restoring purchases. Make sure your purchase history, payment prompts, and storefront all refer to the same purchase account before proceeding. If the product page says the app is unavailable, first address the region or compatibility issue it identifies; this does not necessarily indicate a Shadowrocket connection problem.

Before You Buy · What to Check After Installation

Verify the app and spot lookalikes

The name helps you search, but verify the app by checking the developer, official icon, and app ID together.

Official Shadowrocket icon: a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background

Verify the app on the product page

All three details should match.

  1. Developer: Check the product page for Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Don’t rely on similar titles, taglines, or artwork in search results. Open the app’s product page and check the developer name carefully.
  2. Official icon: Compare it with the rocket icon on a white background with a blue-purple outline shown on this page. The icon is one part of verification; a similar color alone isn’t enough to confirm the app’s identity.
  3. App ID: The id932747118 in the product page URL corresponds to app ID 932747118. Check the full number, not the app’s position in search results.

If you find an app with the same or a similar name, pause on its product page and check all three details. An app named Shadowrocket is not necessarily the same product. Search ranking, description wording, and the number of screenshots are not substitutes for verifying the app’s identity.

Not Connected shows the current connection status. Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and SERVER are used to select a routing mode, test connectivity, and manage the server list, respectively.

Add Server
Fields include Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method. The screen also provides Scan QR Code and Import from Cloud JSON options.

After installation, start with Home, then open Add Server to review the input fields. The screenshots show where to find things; your SERVER list doesn’t have to match the images. Its contents depend on your own configuration. An empty list on first launch doesn’t mean the installation failed or that your purchase hasn’t taken effect.

The App Store provides the client. Enter Host, Port, Password, and other details from your own server information, using values that match the selected Type. The app ID is not a connection parameter. Protect your subscription URLs and credentials when importing, and avoid showing them in full in public screenshots when troubleshooting.

Device Guide / 01

Get Shadowrocket on iPhone

Complete your App Store purchase and installation first, then configure the app and review system permissions.

Check your purchase status in the App Store

Open the App Store product page from your iPhone and verify the app using the three details above. Then check whether the store button shows a price or an option to redownload. For a first-time purchase, confirm payment when prompted. If you’ve already bought the app, check that you’re using the right purchase account. Check the product page for system requirements; expand the compatibility details before buying rather than assuming compatibility based on your device model.

After purchase, wait for the App Store to finish installing the app, then open Shadowrocket from your Home Screen. If it takes a while, check whether the store is still processing, your device has enough storage, and your network is working. Payment and installation are separate steps. If the process is interrupted, check your purchase history before trying to confirm payment again.

Understand VPN configuration permission

Once you reach Home, have your own subscription or server details ready. The first time you connect, the system may ask whether to allow a VPN configuration. This permission sets up a system network configuration; it is not another purchase. Confirm that the request comes from Shadowrocket before following the system prompts to authorize it.

Allowing a VPN configuration does not confirm that your connection details are correct or that you’re connected. Next, check the selected server, Global Routing, and the current status, then use Connectivity Test to help diagnose the connection. If you haven’t imported your own configuration, do that first rather than judging the purchase by the switch near Not Connected.

For the full setup sequence, see Shadowrocket Getting Started →. The guide covers importing a configuration, choosing Global Routing, testing the connection, and troubleshooting common failure points.

Universal Purchase and Compatibility on iPad

Buy once with the same Apple ID to get the app on iPhone and iPad. Check the app’s configuration on each device.

Find your purchased app on iPad

If you bought Shadowrocket on iPhone, sign in on your iPad with the same Apple ID, open your App Store account’s purchased items, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. Check the product page for universal purchase availability and system requirements for your device. If the iPad product page still shows a price, check the account under Media & Purchases instead of assuming it matches the account on your iPhone.

The larger iPad screen may change the page layout, list width, or appearance of system prompts. Look for interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings rather than trying to find buttons in the exact pixel positions shown in screenshots. Purchase access and server configuration are separate: seeing the app in your purchases doesn’t mean your subscriptions, rules, and connection status have all transferred to another device.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. You can look for Shadowrocket in the App Store on the device you want to use. Check the product page for system requirements, device compatibility, and universal purchase availability. Don’t assume that an iPhone purchase guarantees the same terms on other devices or that every device works the same way.

If you plan to use Shadowrocket on another Apple device, first check compatibility and App Store availability on that device, then confirm your purchase status. Mac in this site’s name is a site identifier; it doesn’t replace the store’s device compatibility details. The setup steps and official screenshots on this page are primarily for iPhone and iPad.

Restore Purchases After Switching Devices or Reinstalling

Your purchase account restores the app; your own configuration is needed to use it.

Find your purchased app

  1. Open the App Store account page and confirm that you’re signed in with the Apple ID used to buy Shadowrocket.
  2. Open Purchased Items and find Shadowrocket. Depending on your system version, this option may also appear under App or another purchase-management section.
  3. Verify the app’s identity, download it again, wait for installation to finish, then open the app and check your existing settings.

You usually won’t need to pay again to restore a purchased app with the same purchase account. If you can’t find the purchase, check your purchase history to confirm the original purchase was completed and whether you used another Apple ID of your own. If the page still asks you to pay, don’t assume that another payment is required to restore the app.

Restore your own configuration

A successful reinstall only means the client is back on your device. Whether your subscriptions, server details, configuration files, and related settings remain available depends on how you backed them up or transferred them. Downloading the app again does not restore your full configuration. After opening Home, check SERVER, the current configuration, and your routing selection.

If your configuration wasn’t retained, reimport your own subscription or server details and check each parameter. You may also need to allow a VPN configuration again on the new device. After importing, test one connection and then check the rules. Avoid changing several settings at once so you can tell whether an issue is related to restoring your configuration or to the connection details.

To check whether Family Sharing applies, review the current App Store product page and your Family Sharing settings. Being in the same family doesn’t by itself confirm that you have access to the purchase. If the storefront, purchase history, or payment status doesn’t match, verify the account details using the App Store prompts before continuing.

If a download is interrupted, takes a long time, or you’ve paid but can’t find the app, note the exact message shown by the system. Distinguishing between a purchase that hasn’t completed, an app that’s purchased but not installed, and a connection problem after installation helps narrow down the issue. For connection problems, check your configuration and network rather than buying the app again.

Shadowrocket Price and One-Time Purchase

The U.S. storefront reference price is $2.99. Actual prices and currency vary by local App Store.

Your purchase covers the app

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app sold as a one-time client purchase, with no monthly fee for the app itself. Before placing your order, check the price, currency, and payment confirmation shown by your account’s storefront. The U.S. reference price does not determine the final price in other storefronts. Regional pricing and checkout displays may vary; this page does not guarantee future prices.

The App Store manages purchase history. To redownload the app, use the same purchase account. App updates are also delivered through the App Store. Turn on automatic updates in your device settings or check for available updates in your store account. For the latest changes, see the product page’s release notes; this page does not rely on a fixed version number or date as a basis for purchase.

Before using the app, have your own subscription or server details ready and import them in the appropriate format. A subscription URL updates configuration data; it is not an App Store payment receipt. A server password is not your Apple ID password. When using Add Server, enter only the fields required by your configuration and never enter purchase account details as connection parameters.

Check payment, installation, and connection separately

To check whether a purchase went through, review your App Store purchase history and the app’s acquisition status. To confirm installation, check whether the app opens on your device. To troubleshoot a connection, check your own configuration, current network, and test results. These are separate stages: a failed connection doesn’t mean you bought the wrong app, and a successful payment doesn’t mean a working connection is already configured.

For further troubleshooting, note where the error appeared and the steps you took, but don’t share full subscription URLs, passwords, or account details. Start with Purchase and Connection FAQs, then follow the steps for the relevant issue. Verifying the app before purchase is more reliable than judging it by name alone after installation.

Download and Purchase FAQs

Check the storefront and purchase status first, then troubleshoot your device and configuration.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket in the App Store?

Shadowrocket is not available in the mainland China App Store. Your Apple ID’s country or region determines which storefront you see. Check the account used for Media & Purchases and its country or region, then see whether the product page is available. Your device language and current network location do not determine your account’s storefront.

The product page opens, but the download won’t complete. What should I check?

Note the exact App Store message, then check whether the app is available in your account’s region, your device meets the compatibility requirements, your payment details need attention, and your device has enough storage and a working network connection. If the payment status is unclear, check your purchase history before trying again.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone or reinstall the app?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under your App Store account’s purchased items, and download it again. You usually won’t need to pay again. If a price still appears, check the purchase account and history. After reinstalling, check or reimport your own subscriptions, server details, and configuration files.

I bought Shadowrocket on iPhone. Can I install it on iPad?

Yes. Shadowrocket is a universal purchase for iPhone and iPad. On your iPad, sign in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase and redownload it from your App Store purchases. Check the App Store product page for system requirements and universal purchase availability.

Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Look for Shadowrocket in the App Store on the device you want to use. Check the product page for system requirements, device compatibility, and universal purchase availability.

The interface is in English. How do I follow the manual?

This manual keeps interface labels in English, so you can look for names such as Home, Global Routing, Config, Add Server, and Settings. Use the two official screenshots on this page to identify your current screen, then follow Getting Started to import your own configuration. To verify the purchase, check the developer, official icon, and app ID.
